Welcome to Aston-Mansfield’s consultation website for the plans to redevelop the Durning Hall site. Here you can find out more about the plans for the site and the consultation process.

We would like to thank everyone who has took part in the consultation and provided their feedback on the plans. It was great to hear from so many members of the local community on the plans for the redevelopment of the Durning Hall Site.

We are pleased to say that the planning application for the site has now been approved by Newham Council.

On the ‘Have Your Say’ section of this website, you can still view our virtual exhibition boards on the detailed plans and the virtual exhibition boards on the early proposals for the redevelopment.

Update on the redevelopment of the Durning Hall site

As you may be aware, the London Borough of Newham have now approved the planning application for the redevelopment of the Durning Hall site in Forest Gate and Aston-Mansfield has started thinking about the next steps.

We have decided to redevelop the site in partnership with an organisation with development expertise, and are hoping to secure a partner with the partnership agreed by the end of the 2023/24 year.

We are committed to working with an organisation/partner whose values are aligned with our own and who will meet our expectations in maximising the value of the site.

It is our intention to keep the Durning Hall Community Centre open and running until 2024, though this is currently tentative and subject to change.

We will ensure advanced notice will be given in respect closure of the site.

The building works are expected to last at least 3 years. However, due to the nature of the development, these dates might change slightly.

We will endeavour to keep the local community informed about the works taking place on site by sending regular updates regarding the redevelopment of the site.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for your on-going support and use of our services and hope that you are all well and safe.
